2006 – The Hamiltons

The speakers at the 2006 Retreat were John and Jeanie Hamilton. At that time, John was on loan from the Navigators to International Partnerships, helping to attract third generation Ukrainian atheists, university educated professionals into Bible Discussion Groups, which then become church plants. Jeanie is a realtor in Durham, NC.

The theme for the weekend was, “The Riches of Authentic Fellowship.”

“Have you ever wondered if authentic fellowship takes place more in other places than in the church? Have you experienced loneliness, even while surrounded by fellow Christians on Sunday morning? Have you ever been tempted to give up knowing people and being known by them? Many of us have.

The Gospel offers a safe place where we can experience genuine friendship. What should a Biblical Community provide? How can we take steps toward being the community that we all need? By reflecting on God’s dealings with us, we will emerge with a better sense of His intent and His purposes. Listening to the life-stories of others will help us grow to appreciate the challenges and joy of authentic fellowship.

Leave the weekend with a better sense of your personal direction and growing friendship with others.”
